is it hard to replace a bad piston head?
and I hope this isn't stupid, I'm a noob when it comes to airsoft guns' internals

It's not hard at all. I watched my bro do it on his AK, and all he had to do is unscrew it from inside the piston.

As said, it is very simple, you just need to carefully unscrew the head from the inside of the piston, however, make sure the screw stays in the hole in the piston, its a real pain to get back in.
