Global Warming

ok so this is a big topic in our world today so i wanted to know what you guys think. Now this is to airsoftguy. So with all the scientific evidence and data on global warming you think its all made up? Icebergs melting , sea levels rising about .2 cm a year still fake? Let me put it this way ALL scientist agree that there is a global rise in temperature the only thing they dont believe in is how fast its rising and how long it will take for all the ice bergs to melt. If you lived in florida trust me you would think different. We went like 64years(or some where near that) with out getting hit by a hurricane. In 2005 we got hit by 3. After that year we werent hit by one but came VERY close. And these storms are getter more and more intense as the years got by. we are getting more 4s and 5s then ever before. You have to be really ignorant not to see this. Im in Ap environmental and there is no debate wheather it is real or not, because it is real. Its sad to see how people dont believe stuff and then the effects kick in all at once but by that time its already to late. Us humans are the smartest animals but by FAR the stupidest.

No I do not believe it is real. Not ALL scientists agree. And even if that were true, at one time ALL scientists believed the earth was flat and that the sun orbited around the earth.

There are studies that show that the ice is melting in the North poll. That is true. But the ice is GROWING in the south.

And lets say global warming is real for a second. Do you really think that WE little humans could change the climate of a planet? DO you realize that more pollution is put into the air in ONE volcano than humans EVER have? And if I remember correctly, one forest fire puts more into the air than we do in years. So, if we are causing the climate to get warmer, I say we shift the earth farther away from the sun to cool it down again. Its only slightly less plausible.

Ok first off. you Said at one time all scientist believed the earth was flat and blah blah. ok Today in our modern world we have something called "advanced technolgy" every year we gain more information on the earth we live in and use this to solve mjor problems. With all this technology we clearly see the effects of global warming.

2nd you just proved my point when you said the Ice is melting which CLEARLY means there is a rise in temperature. but as for the south i would like to see a link on this information.

3rd. Im pretty pissed on what you wrote there, some cities and states are only a few feet above sea level like Florida. .2 every year is A LOT. And not to call you stupid or anything but you have to realize that it adds up to A LOT after like 10 years. Sorry but you have to be incredibly dumb to think its a very little rise. AND at time progresses the effects will be worse and that will double if not triple in amount. 1billion years? Are you kidding? think about 50years or less.

4th i dont know who rush w/e his name is but yes there are some ignorant people out there who wont accept things because they read some biased article.

and lastly i dont think your volcano thing is true. Human put billions and billions of pounds of pollution into the air each year, volcanoes are natural and have been here millions of years. Was the envionment fine then? Yes 100%. Are we fine today with us humans here? Absolutly not. And even if we are not able to stop it, dont you think we could slow it down? Think about the animals effected by our footprint on earth. We take their home away to better suit our needs and cut down forest so we can make money. F*$& money.

i really dont know what to think, my geography teacher says its not real and that its a part of the earths natural cycle

well some think part of earths cycle is to go through like an Ice age and we are speeding up the process. But even if its earths process wouldnt it still be considered global warming

The animals will find somewhere else to live. Heck, we keep as pets animals that would never survive in the wild. In fifty years at that rate it would rise a whole meter. Its not going to be destroying cities any time soon. And thanks for saying I'm incredibly dumb by the way that worked wonders for the whole logical argument with evidence thing. (I actually don't mind all that much)

ok now dealing with your sources. Are you getting your "facts" form something you vaguely remember from a really long time ago or did you get it from a website? If its from memory its most likely false. IF you got it from a source but cannot show this site, i do not believe you. Why? Because Theres something on a computer called "History" where it list the sites you have previously visited.

Lastly, this pretty much proves my point with the whole "dumb" thing. You really think that animals could simply move to a different location without being affected? Are you joking? Theres something called "competition". If thousands of species of animals are losing their natural habitat, shelter ,food and water ALL become more scarce. Or the animal is not suitable for surviving the new location. 1.5 acres of the rainforest are destoyed every second and 35 species of animals are being extinct each day. Animals used to become extinct through natural causes, today animals are becoming exting through hunting, pollution, and destruction of their natural habitat. So dont even say " they can just find a new home" How would you like if someone just kicked you out of your home?

And now your going to make fun of Al gore? id rather choose him then any other politician because at least he cares about the environment. Unlike some people in this world who their goal in life is this:
1) Graduate high school
2) go to college
3) get a job that makes lots of money
4) buy a big house and get married
5) die

as you can see when this person dies will there be any imprint they left on the world? No. Besides putting thousands of pounds of pollution onto the earth, no one will ever care for him the the future. Its people who actually do something to help the earth which will better help people and animals of the future that actually mean something in this world.

If you have no repect for the environment, you will not get repect back. Personally i like animals better then humans. Why? Because we ARE the stupidest animals alive wheather you agree with it or not, i know its true. What type of organism would even thing about blowing up its own kind with bombs? or abuse the resources which earth has given?

This goes with what I and a whole lot of people have been saying for a long time, the Earth goes through periods of natural warming and cooling. In the 70s some scientists were worried that global COOLING was going to lead to a new ice age.

I do not believe AL Gore cares about the environment at all. His house uses a huge amount of energy, and he puts more polution into the air than most people. He only chose global warming because he was never going to get elected to any real position.

I find it amusing that you make the point about the human beings dieing and no one cares. And yet its this huge deal that a few insects die.

Actually, thats not what I said at all. I said it would cover the worlds cities ina couple billion years. That is very different that water rising a couple feet in 50 years. I do not think that a few feet is going to cover the worlds cities. .2 of a cm is incredibly tiny.

Ok i dont know what you meant about the part about insects. And about the whole house thing, you have an opportunity to simply BUY a new home. Animals, what do they do? They just die off if they cant find a suitable environment.

I would like to know were you got that comment. As for my opinion, I try to stay neutral on the subject. Nether side can DEFINETLY prove they are right. Until then, there is nothing wrong with going energy efficient even if you think global warming is a bunch of bull. It does save you money.

And do not end a topic just because its not going your way or your opinions are not changing. That's the point of a debate isn't it? See who has the best points. Your opinions are not supposed to change. What fun would that be?

I also read some of that report senor had. Its accurate. I only found 2 misleading graphs but the rest was really straight forward.
